New data by App Annie shows massive growth for the mobile app market this quarter, with a record-breaking 26 billion app downloads and $17 billion in app-driven revenue in Q3 2017. That’s a 28 percent increase in year-over-year consumer spend.

“The growth in downloads and usage proves that apps are becoming increasingly central to people’s lives, and this value is translating to rising revenue for the industry,” writes App Annie’s Industry Analysis Manager Matt Miller.
